"Foreign Driver's License Holders - Colorado

If you are visiting Colorado and are planning to drive during your visit, you should be aware of state traffic regulations. If you are in Colorado for a short visit and you already hold a drivers license issued by another state or another country, you may use it in Colorado. However, if you take a job in Colorado or live in the state for longer than 90 days, you will be required to surrender your original license and apply for a Colorado drivers license. If your drivers license is still valid or expired less than one year ago, the written examination at the DMV can be waived. However, you may still be required to take the Division of Motor Vehicles on-road test, depending on the state or country that issued the original drivers license."

"If you are 16 years of age or older and have a valid license

in your possession which was issued by another U.S. state,

territory or possession, you will normally not be required

to take the written test or the drive test.

...

You must surrender your valid out-of-state driver license

(C.R.S. 24-60-1106) and present identification showing

proof of lawful presence in the U.S. along with your

surrendered out-of-state driver license."
